Interview Highlights

After realizing that being a doctor was not in the cards for her like she had planned since a young child, Constance Coleman became an attorney. She has a passion for serving others, which has taken the form of ensuring her clients are represented fairly and treated justly. Constance took the time to figure out what didn’t work for her, as opposed to going into a field that she was not suited for.

Constance grew up in a stable two parent household and enjoyed her childhood with her two siblings. She lived in an area and attended schools where most of the people did not look like her. Contrarily, Constance’s parents ensured she was balanced and grounded by attending a predominantly African- American church.  Constance is grateful for her parent’s diligence in getting her the exposure she needed to her culture, because it played a large role in her valuing her heritage.

Constance believes that adversity leads to strength, as a result of her endurance and ability to overcome a very tough time in her life. Out of the hardships she experienced from being in a bad relationship, Constance learned the necessity of knowing when it’s time to walk away, by realizing that just because you are in a situation doesn’t mean you belong there.

Constance is adamant about self-care, self-reflection, setting high goals, and speaking up. She believes that happiness is of the utmost importance, and ensures that her life is a reflection of such.
